Is anyone else getting tired of the cold and slush that comes along with February? I’m going to will in warmer weather this week with a spring cocktail recipe that will change your life. As you can imagine, with only two ingredients, easy-to-make is an understatement, but even better, it’s only 130 calories!
Discovering this gin …
Almost a year ago, my dad passed away. I know what you’re thinking – what does that have to do with a spring cocktail? Well, at the celebration of life that took place a few days later, the bartender introduced my French 75-loving family to Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin.
Y’all. I’m a gin lover anyway, but this takes things to a whole new level. It’s small batch and has this smooth flavor that is exactly as described – botanical.
Not an ad, just in love …
I should probably pause to say this post isn’t even sponsored or an ad! That’s how much I love this stuff. And my family went nuts too. For the formal military funeral, my cousin brought a flask as reinforcements – yep, we’re THAT family. Uncle Val’s Botanical Gin
And Belvoir Fruit Farms Elderflower Pressé
There are so many fun ways to perk this simple cocktail up. I like using crushed ice and garnishing with lemon and rosemary sprigs. Belvoir Fruit Farms also makes an elderflower and rose lemonade that is wonderful as a mixer as well.
There’s no exact science to this cocktail because, frankly, I’m too lazy for measurements. I just pour some gin in the bottom of a low-ball with ice and fill the rest with the lemonade. The result is crisp and refreshing – and not too sweet.
I hope you love this spring cocktail recipe as much as I do!
