Happy Thursday, friends! What a week it’s been! On Monday I had jury duty, Tuesday I got to visit the best hair dresser a girl could ask for, yesterday I had a Gator Club board meeting, and tonight is a happy hour with LSU’s Chicago alumni to celebrate before our big showdown this weekend.
Plus, the most exciting part is this Sunday, Mama Gamble comes to town! She’ll be in for a full week as we prepare and throw my cousin’s baby shower! We have a full line up of new restaurants to try and she’s FINALLLLLLY going to do the Chicago Architecture boat tour!
Here’s what I’m loving this week …
In The Moment: Things I Love on October 10, 2019
1. Kaco Pens | 2. Utopian Tailgate | 3. Endlessly Grateful Cards | 4. Colorful Area Rug | 5. Scalp Massager
Kaco Pens
My love of office supplies runs deep and when I found these colorful pens at Paper Source the other day, I knew I had to have a few. I purchased 4 or 5 and then went back the next week to buy every color they had. I wish I had seen this way-less-expensive set on Amazon, but I’ll know for next time. They write great, and in fun colors, plus the outside is soft to the touch and looks great sitting in a jar on my desk!
Utopian Tailgate
New rooftop bar alert! I was pretty skeptical thinking this spot would be a scene for the 26-year-old party crowd, but actually, I really enjoyed myself. First of all, the view is killer and the atmosphere is so well thought out! Second, the drinks were creative – and strong – and the games were a fun way to stay busy while chatting. I’ve heard they’re going to cover it with a dome for the winter, but just in case, I’d say go in the next month or so!
Endlessly Grateful Cards
I love sending cards for no reason at all and this was a perfectly adorable set for letting someone know how glad you are to have them as a friend. Or mentor. Or boss. Or mom. Or whatever. You could use them as general thank-you notes too, of course, given the Endlessly Grateful text.
Colorful Area Rug
Well, sad news, my Morocco rug, as much as I love it, doesn’t clean well and so has to be tucked away in a closet until I decide how to have it repurposed. In the meantime, my home office space needed a new rug and I found the perfect bright-colored design for … ummm … $62? That can’t be right?! Yeah, it’s as gorgeous in person as it is online, and at under $65 including shipping, it was almost cheaper than the one round of dry cleaning I spent getting the Morocco rug back into shape! Plus, I ordered it on a Wednesday night and had it delivered on Friday. What?!
Scalp Massager
My life can now be defined by two distinct time periods. Before discovering a cheap scalp massager that I got as a swag item at a conference, and after. I’ve seen these things for years, but always thought they were cheesy. That was, until I took my hair out of a ponytail on a long day and let this thing work its magic. I totally get the hype now and if you’ve ever been looking for a way to spend $10 – this is it. Lookout, family and friends, this will be in everyone’s Christmas stocking this year!
