Happy Thursday, friends! One of my new habits is practicing gratitude. It sounds so simple, but it’s really helpful to try and focus on the good in life. Here are five little blessings this week:
- I’ve been selected to judge the USA Ambassador National Pageant in Tampa later this month. The program benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters and it will be so interesting to immerse in a new world for a weekend!
- I made it to the farmer’s market yesterday and got cherries, blueberries, and flowers. Sometimes it really is the little things.
- Last night I whipped up a crazy good dinner with no recipe – just threw in cooked quinoa, halved cherry tomatoes, chopped cucumber, crumbled feta, oil, balsamic, salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning in a bowl. The best part: leftovers.
- I have a happy hour tonight with some of my favorite people in Chicago at Highline. I’m ready for a couple of their $5 Moscow mules.
- This weekend is the #nsale and I can’t wait to share my fun finds with you. Shopping bonus: Amazon Prime Day starts next Monday and I’m cautiously optimistic for some good deals this year.

So, I’ve been loving watching all of the bloggers out there pick great finds from Nordstrom pre-sale and one thing I’m dying for is these snakeskin booties. I’ve talked about my love of Blondo booties before – particularly because they’re waterproof. If these aren’t in the actual sale, I might just pay full price!
Pearl Hair Clips
2019 seems to be the year for girlie hair accessories and I’m totally here for it. Especially these faux pearl hair clips that are so easy to throw in and dress up a look. I’m sure there are really nice (read: expensive) ones out there you could buy, but I’ll take the 15 pack for $12 on Amazon, thank you!
T3 Twirl 1.5” Curling Iron
I don’t know about you, but summer is absolutely deadly for my hair – and not just from the humidity. Actually, more because I can’t stand to style my hair in my non-airconditioned bathroom for longer than 3 minutes at a time. My solution as of late is to let my hair air dry and then run this 1.5” barrel curling iron through large sections. What do I mean by large? I section my hair off into 10 parts total. It’s so much faster and my hair just has a bouncy look. I use the T3 Twirl because I like the convertible base I can change with a number of styling options – it’s pricey, but totally worth it in my book.
Tell Me More by Kelly Corrigan
I was going to save a bunch of books I’ve been reading and share both an end-of-summer reading list as well as their mini reviews, but I can’t wait to talk about this one. It’s technically a self-help book, but it reads like a memoir and is absolutely beautifully written. I’m only about a 1/3 of the way through, but I can’t seem to put it down … speaking of, I think I’ll get back to it …
