Hi friends, it’s been a while! I was in a wedding a couple weekends ago and came home to a packed schedule, some catching up on day job stuff, and life in general.
I’m back, though, and thought it would be fun to share some pictures and details from the wedding. If you’re planning a wedding, maybe this will give you some inspiration. If you’re not, who doesn’t love getting a sneak peek into a real wedding anyway?
Wedding Recap: Before the Big Day
I was able to take a couple days off work, so on Thursday, the bride, her sister, another friend, and I went to a Korean spa in Atlanta. If you haven’t been to one before it’s one of the most liberating experiences – think: getting totally butt naked in front of a room full of people. I’m actually going to write a full post about it next week.
On Friday, we had the rehearsal in the park and went to the hotel suite for drinks before the rehearsal dinner. The rehearsal dinner was at 5 Church and was pretty much its own wedding in and of itself. We had most of our friends there, a nice dinner, and lots of champagne!
Wedding Recap: The Day Of
The morning of the wedding, all of the bridesmaids had our hair and makeup done and just relaxed. The bride got us all matching robes, that of course were perfect for pictures. She also got us the most thoughtful gift – bracelets with the coordinates of where we each met her – mine was in Piedmont Park where we met playing in an adult kickball league.
We all walked over to the venue from there and took group photos. The weather ended up holding out and the couple was able to get married outside as planned under a gorgeous chuppah hand knit by the bride’s sister.
After the ceremony, our group ate great food, danced, took way too may turns in the photo booth, and, as with the night before, drank quite a bit of champagne.
Wedding Recap: The Details
It’s been a dream of mine to design wedding invitations. That said, I’m realistic about the time involved in something like that and have never perused it as a profession or even side hustle. But, my amazing friend actually let me design everything for the wedding from the invitation suite, to the programs, and even the directional signage to the venue.
But the bride’s attention to detail didn’t stop there! Look at this amazing cake topper that looks spot on her, her new hubs, and their dog and cat.
She also used a Cricut machine to print the table place cards that are about as adorable as it gets.
And, perhaps the cutest part of the whole thing was the brain child of one of the ushers, who happens to live in a high-rise apartment across the street from the wedding host hotel.
The only thing sweeter than an Alexa loves Zach sign plastered for the city of Atlanta to see was the funfetti cake. Truly a great weekend – here’s one more shot of Alexa and I together right before she walked down the aisle. Cheers to the happy couple!
