Fall is officially upon us and whether you live in Chicago where the temps are finally dropping, or Atlanta where I’m currently roasting in the 90s, I’ve got some fun ways to celebrate the fall season and enjoy all that it brings.
Find a Haunted Hike or Corn Maze
Pumpkin or apple picking is always a solid choice, but try something new this year by finding a corn maze or haunted hike. Okay, personally, I get far too jumpy for a haunted hike, but I love the challenge of a good corn maze! Plus, places like that usually have other fall treats to enjoy.
Pack Away your Summer Clothes
Put the tank tops and shorts in a box and pull out your boots, chunky sweaters, and all things jewel-toned. I’m a big fan of fall fashion and this year I’ve been having fun buying some new clothes. If you really want to go all-out, pull out a darker nail color to match your updated wardrobe!
Enjoy a Fall Drink
Why not stop at Starbucks for a cool-weather treat while you walk through the aforementioned corn maze? If pumpkin spice lattes aren’t your thing, there seem to be other seasonal coffee flavors. And if you’re like me and don’t like coffee at all – opt for a hot apple cider! If you’re thinking of something at home, I found this recipe for red wine hot chocolate on Pinterest that I’ve been dying to try!
Plan a Weekend for Leaf Peeping
One of my dream weekend getaways is heading to Vermont to check out the fall colors. How cozy does holing up in a mountain cabin and looking out onto all the changing leaves sound?! It’s not going to happen this year, unfortunately, but I’m at least hoping to get one more hike in after the colors have changed.
Host a Fall Party
Whether it’s for Halloween or just for fall fun, host a party this season complete with themed drinks, and s’mores. If you have a fireplace or pit outside, get that going for an extra cozy feel. Pro tip: if you go the Halloween party route, tonic glows in black light!
Hopefully that list inspires your season a bit. What recommendations do you have to celebrate the crisp air and crunchy leaves?
