Y’all, this has been one of the best, most productive weeks I’ve had in a long time. I’ve tackled almost my entire to-do list for the week and, as I write this, it’s only Wednesday. Want to know why it’s been so good? I brought back weekly planning – but more on that below.
Also on point this week has been my exercise routine! I took my first yoga class tonight since surgery and it felt amazing. I knew after surgery I wouldn’t be able to do high-impact exercises, but I figured yoga would always be good. Turns out nope, yoga was one of the last activities I was allowed to work back into my routine. In truth, I could have taken a class last month, but I was traveling and busy and blah blah blah. Tonight, I dropped the excuses and did something I knew my body would appreciate. And it did. Funny how that works …
Okay, I’ll stop boring you. On to the things I love this week!

Weekly Planning
I said I would get back to this! Okay, so by now you’re well aware of my love of monthly planning. I take time at the start of each month to sit down and write my goals out. I used to do this weekly and track my weekly to-dos back to my monthly goals. Smart, huh? Well, I fell out of the habit and it shows.
By writing out the week, I can figure out when to fit my workouts in, what my priorities are for the week, and when I have time for fun! When I wrote out this week, I knew I had lots of fun stuff scheduled later in the week, so I knocked out my three runs (which was one of my monthly goals) early. And now they’re done!
One of these days, I’ll share a PDF of what I use for weekly and monthly goal tracking that you can print out and use at home too!
Crock Pot Chili
I pulled out the Crock Pot this week and made my first batch of chili for the season! I use this recipe from Cooking Classy. I asked my Instagram friends to guess the ingredient that’s not on the recipe that I throw in anyway. My Cincinnati friends guessed pretty quickly that it was either chocolate or cinnamon. And, they would have both been right except that chocolate was already in the recipe! The only other adjustment I make is to not throw in any sugar – I don’t like my chili sweet and the sugar is on the top shelf where I’d need to get out a stool to reach it. Laziness saving me calories for once.
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before
I’m sure you’ve heard about this one already, but if you haven’t, tell your boss you’re having a personal emergency and watch it right this minute. Okay, don’t do that, but do add it to your Netflix queue because it’s so. flippin’. cute. When the end credits finished, I actually just pressed play immediately again. The lead girl is adorable and real and pretty much all of us at 16.
Lilly After Party Sale
Did anyone else get totally sucked into the Lilly After Party Sale this week? If you did, what did you get? I got the adorable pullover shown above (but in a lighter blue) that’s no longer available. Sad! I love that it’s cute and girly without screaming Lilly. Because, let’s face it, I live in Chicago and we’re entering fall. Maybe not the best time to wear these leggings I also bought, but imma rock ‘em anyway.
Day Pack
One of my goals this month was to go on another hike. And I have a trip to the Appalachian Trail early next month with my mom, second mom, and pseudo-sister. The CamelBak day pack I’ve been using for a few years has always really annoyed me in that it doesn’t have an easily accessible pocket for my cell (photos) and tissues (allergies). So, I got this one on sale from REI and while I don’t think this brand is anything to write home about, I’m really pleased with the design and functionality. It has a place for my hydration bladder and has a zip pocket on the hip strap for said phone and tissues. I can’t wait to test it out this weekend!
Lord, I feel wordy this week. Hope you stuck with me through that! What are the things you love this week?
