Greetings from Colorado! I’m currently avoiding any “fresh” air as there have been a number of wildfires nearby and the air is thick with smoke. Really sucks, but it seems to be clearing up fast.
In other news, we did an amazing hike today (pre-fires) called Saint Mary’s Glacier. It was right outside of this charming little town we always stop in called Idaho Springs. I’m thinking I’ll share a travel guide to Denver next week. I’m more concerned about cutting it down to a manageable post – so much fun stuff!
On to things I love this week …
In The Moment: Things I Love on August 16, 2018
1. Ranch Organics | 2. Champagne Print | 3. Burgundy Mascara | 4. Squid Ink Pasta | 5. Nail Salon Supply Stores
Ranch Organics
Last week, when I was in Denver, my mom was at a ranch outside of Steamboat Springs managed by her friend’s brother and sister-in-law. The sister-in-law also has an organic bath and body brand called Ranch Organics. My mom brought home some amazing selling soap to try and I can’t wait to test it out! I may also be making an order to try some of their lotions and scrubs.
Champagne Print from Nordstrom
I got the cutest canvas art print in the Nordstrom sale last month. I honestly wasn’t even looking for anything for my home, but my friend sent me the link and I couldn’t resist. It was delivered last week and I got to hang it up before I left town. I absolutely love it! It just needs to shift a bit when I get home as I hung it too high. When I get it just right, I’ll share a pic!
Burgundy Mascara
I don’t really love this yet, but I heard about it on a morning TV show this week and I’m totally intrigued. The one they were talking about is by L’Oréal so it won’t be an investment to just give it a try. I’ll keep you posted.
Squid Ink Pasta
My friend and I went to this amazing restaurant in Larimer Square called Rioja on Monday. We ordered lots of little dishes to share, but one of the things I requested was the squid ink pasta. I forgot how much I love squid ink pasta – and maybe part of it is just how cool it looks. I’ll share more about the restaurant in my Denver guide, but for now, get to any local restaurant that has squid ink pasta on the menu. Or apparently, you can buy packets of it on Amazon??
Nail Salon Supply Stores
Let me tell you – if you paint your nails at home, finding a good salon supply store that will sell to the public is clutch. I have one I’ve been going to every time I’m in Colorado for almost a decade. It’s in a sketch neighborhood, but OPI is $4 a bottle, and they’ve got a huge selection of salon-quality files, buffers, etc.
It doesn’t hurt that the man who’s been working the register since I started going is freaking hilarious and always has my mom and I leaving in fits of laughter. I’m not going to publish the name in so they don’t get in trouble, but if you’re in the area and want to go, let me know and I’ll share the details.
Today, I stocked up on some of OPI’s new fall collection (Suzi Will Quechua Later, Seven Wonders of OPI, and Yes My Condor Can-Do!) and can’t wait to share my favs with you!
Tomorrow we’re headed to Wyoming to cross off state #41 for me and state number #48 for mom! Then we’re capping off the night seeing Crazy Rich Asians, since – miracle of miracles – it’s showing at the single theater in town! Is there anything we should have on our radar to love next week??
