Happy Thursday, friends. In just over 24 hours, I’ll be on my way to the land of mountains, family, and my favorite nail salon supply store that just happens to sell to the public. If you missed Tuesday’s post that would be Colorado!
I’ll spend the first few days catching up with family and friends in Denver, then I’ll head out to this teeny-tiny town called Fraser, outside of Winter Park (the ski resort, not the town in Florida).
I’ll still be posting while I’m away, though, and I believe mom is coming back to guest post with a travel guide to Paris!

Rodan and Fields Foaming Sunless Tan
I’m not quite sure how I made it to 31 without ever trying a sunless tanner or spray tan, but here we are. After seeing some blinding pictures of my pasty limbs, I put a call out to Instagram for help finding the best self tanner. One of my favorite Instagrammers is a R+F Consultant and suggested I try theirs. I could not have been more pleasantly surprised. I went by the book, exfoliating first and doing a little bit over a few days to build. Now I have the most perfect glow and no orangey splotches. It works on face and neck too, so I don’t look like a freak. Yay!
Hiking
Living in Chicago it isn’t always easy to get a good hike in. Before my trip, though, I wanted to test my hiking boots back out and do a little prep, so my cousin and I drove just outside the city to Deer Grove. When I told my Coloradan brother I went hiking, he corrected me, “no, you went on a walk in a park.” Okay, so he was pretty much right, but it was nice to get outside of the city for an afternoon. Real hikes to come next week!
Cricut Explore Air 2
I can’t remember if I mentioned I was helping my friend with her wedding invites? Anyway, I did the design and printing of the cards, while she and her hubby-to-be got crafty and came up with the most genius calligraphy hack. Instead of hiring a person to write out the envelopes, they got a Cricut and replaced the cutting tool with a silver pen. Gah! They turned out so good and this makes me want to get creative on a new project! I also may need to buy a Cricut now …
Take Two
I started to write about how much I love Bachelor In Paradise, but I think y’all know how addicted to that franchise I am by now. Another new show I find just adorable is Take Two. It’s nothing earth shattering, just your typical crime drama with loads of sexual tension, but I love Rachel Bilson and the story lines aren’t as easy to predict as similar shows. It’s on ABC Thursdays at 9 CT.
Crazy Rich Asians
I posted Tuesday with my reading list for the trip and mentioned I started Crazy Rich Asians. I’m now about halfway through and freaking love it. It’s like Gossip Girl on steroids and you get to learn a little bit about another culture to boot. Now just keep your fingers crossed that Fraser’s tiny theater decides to show the movie when it comes out next week!
