If you’ve been reading the blog for long, you know on Thursdays I do a short list of the things I love that week. I’ve talked a few times in those posts about this awesome line of skin care products from Organys that I’m completely obsessed with. Last week, I actually got to visit their new offices outside of Chicago to learn more about their products and philosophy.
A Bit of Background …
While I do have a formal partnership with Organys now, I want to provide a bit of background as to how this came about. I’m all about transparency and hope this will demonstrate my number-one consideration in this blog is my readers.
After about three months of using both their lash serum and retinol cream with good success, I noticed on one of the bottles that Organys is a local company and emailed them to ask if they would let me come and talk to them. Being able to ask questions about their products in person was so helpful and absolutely fascinating!
The MVP – Lash and Brow Booster Serum
The big sellers for Organys are their lash serum and retinol cream – the two products I started with on my own. At first, I thought the name Organys meant they only used natural, organic ingredients. I learned that while their brand is inspired by nature and the ingredients that can be responsibly sourced from it, any product that has an active ingredient (usually those that are hard to pronounce) is not completely organic.
In the case of their Lash and Brow Booster Serum, the active ingredient that does the most work is myristoyal pentapeptide-17 (not organic), while leaf and fruit extracts help speed up the process.
Here’s my main selling point with their lash serum … The ingredient that’s in many popular serums – prostaglandins – is what can cause your irises to change color (permanently, I might add), and comes with side effects like puffy lids, redness, and itchiness. No thanks. Organys’ Lash and Brow Booster Serum does not contain prostaglandins!
While this means it may take a bit longer to see results, it’s also part of what makes the price tag go way down. For me personally, I still saw lash growth in about three weeks!
Speaking of the Price Tag …
Other products in their lineup stay inexpensive due to the company’s word-of-mouth growth model. Little is invested in product packaging and studies to prove performance. Instead, they let the products speak for themselves and offer a full refund to any customer who doesn’t love them for whatever reason.
Not a Snap-Your-Fingers Solution
I’ve been using Organys’ retinol cream for a few weeks now and have seen similar results to a comparable $85 Sephora find! Because the company uses gentler ingredients, their products require patience. You’ll need consistent application over time to see results. I’ll let you know when I can speak more to this.
What’s Next …
I’m excited to try their Spark Eye Cream – which was a generous gift when I visited their office. They also have a 100% Castor Oil that was a frequent product request from their shoppers. Plus, the company has a couple other products in development, that I’m dying to get my hands on.
