Happy Thursday, friends! It’s been one crazy week! On Sunday, I flew to Baltimore (and also drove to Delaware) to check a couple states off my list before heading to D.C. for a work trip. Y’all, I had a blast! I’ve discovered the joys of traveling alone and meeting new people along the way. And Baltimore is such a cool city, it made my list of things I love this week, so more on that below.
I’m home now, but the fun continues with going to see the musical version of Pretty Woman tonight and taking part of the day off tomorrow for a Cubs game. Bonus, they’re playing the Braves! Okay, I’ll stop blabbering, here’s this week’s list …
In The Moment: Things I Love on April 12, 2018
1. Baltimore | 2. Jade Roller | 3. Lash and Brow Serum | 4. Lush Bath Bomb | 5. Rice Krispies Treats
Baltimore
Walk on the waterfront, check. Exploring neighborhoods, check. Eating crab cakes three times in less than 24 hours, check. I’ll look into doing a mini travel guide on Baltimore soon, but if it’s not on your list of cities to visit, I’d highly recommend it. The city itself is full of history and everyone is very friendly. Something I learned: they nicknamed the city Small-timore because of how often you run into people you know there.
Jade Roller
I keep seeing these jade rollers posted on Instagram and Pinterest and I finally ordered one earlier this week. I’ve heard you can use them with essential oils and that they help with wrinkles. I’ll let you know how it goes and how I end up using it …
Lash and Brow Booster Serum
Okay, so many months ago I tried a very popular version of lash serum and while my lashes definitely grew, I also had issues with itchy skin, eyelashes falling out, and uneven lengths. Not exactly comforting. The problem is, now that I’ve stopped using it, my lashes are shorter than they were before. UGH.
I found this stuff on Amazon, that’s not only much less expensive, but also touts responsibly formulated, plant-based ingredients. I honestly don’t know if this is any better than what I was using before, but figured it was worth a try. I’m a few days in, and so far so good. I’ll keep you posted when I have more complete results.
Bath Bombs
My hotel in D.C. had a large tub and the very helpful front desk man gave me a free bottle of wine and told me to run to Lush in the mall next door to get a bath bomb. Okay, sir, sounds good to me. So I did. I love taking a nice relaxing bath, but rarely get to enjoy since my tub at home is pretty small. I got the dragon egg from Lush and soaked in fruity smelling gold sparkles. Not a bad way to end this trip!
Rice Krispies Treats
My sweet tooth has been in full force the past few days and traveling hasn’t helped my diet. For some reason, I’ve been craving marshmallow bars. Why aren’t these a more common dessert?! I’m thinking of trying to make a lightened-up version at home next week, but not sure that’s even possible. Anyone have a good recipe?

I’ve been looking into jade rollers, but haven’t purchased one yet. Please keep us updated! I also love the story about the hotel front desk man. Haha genius!
