Happy Thursday, friends! I’ve been blogging (and working) from Florida this week at my mom’s house. Nice to get some fresh air, sunshine, and even a little bit of a tan. Have lots of things I love this week for you too.
In The Moment: Things I Love on March 1, 2018
1. Ceramic Food Storage | 2. Spring Nail Colors | 3. Square Brush | 4. Jewelry Roll | 5. Blush Rain Coat | 6. Sous Vide
Ceramic Food Storage
Staying at someone’s house I always find little conveniences that I would have never thought of. Enter, microwavable food storage. At home, I keep leftovers stored in plastic containers and transfer the food to a plate to reheat. I never thought anything of this until I visited mom and found out how easy it is to take something from the fridge, remove the lid, and stick it straight into the microwave. Mom has glass containers, but I love these pink ceramic ones. They’re a little pricey for something fairly trivial, so they’ll probably appear on my birthday list this year!
Spring Nail Colors
My friend gave me some nail polish she wasn’t using and I’m totally digging the fun spring-y colors! They might not be super professional for when I get back to the office, but they definitely work for poolside. They came in a set that I can’t find online, but here are some similar options I found. Pale peach. Deep turquoise. Punchy purple. White. Anyone else love white nail polish as much as I do??
Mom’s Pick: Square Brush
Mom has requested to have her latest favorite thing included in this week’s post … a square brush! She has always used a round brush when drying her hair, but her hairdresser recently recommended this square one and she says it gets her hair so much straighter – and I agree – it looks great. I was planning on testing it out while I’m here, but to be honest, I’ve just been letting it air dry while I’m on “vacation” so you’ll have to take her word for it.
Jewelry Roll
On my flight from Chicago to Atlanta, my trusty jewelry box that I’ve had for almost ten years broke open and scattered earrings all throughout my suitcase. Luckily, they’re all accounted for, but it’s time for a new jewelry travel solution. My mom has one of these jewelry rolls and swears by it. I don’t love the pattern options, but the functionality seems great. I’ll be ordering one when I get home.
Blush Rain Coat
It seems spring has hit Chicago – of course right when I leave town, the temps shoot up to the 60s! Of course, I’m not doing much clothes shopping this spring because of the surgery, but next year, I’d love to have an adorable blush trench like this one from Kate Spade. Who knew rain could be so feminine and fun?!
Sous Vide
What on earth is sous vide?? It is a cooking device that cooks pretty much anything in vacuum sealed pouches in a pot of water at a constant temperature. This makes it so that meat is perfectly cooked throughout. Mom’s is WiFi enabled so she can set it up early and turn it on from her phone while she’s out running errands so dinner is ready when she gets home. She’s writing a guest post for Bumble and Bustle that talks more about this so you can learn how to use it too. So delicious and so easy!
