In case you missed last week’s first installment, each week on Thursdays, I plan to run a weekly feature on things I love in the moment. Could be people, places, ideas, or things – and I might not love them forever, but that’s half the fun!
Without further preamble …
In The Moment: Things I Love on January 25, 2018
1. Initial Necklace | 2. Snail Mail | 3. The Bachelor | 4. La Vieille Ferme | 5. SmartWool
Initial Necklace
You’ve probably seen this trend all over Instagram or the Anthropolgie catalogue. I love how simple these necklaces are and how much they go with. I got one for me and one for my non-biological little sister for Christmas, but I seem to love it more and more each week. It’s become my go-to because it matches almost everything. Here’s an option to splurge or save.
Snail Mail Love
When I went to Alaska, I offered to send a postcard to any of my Instagram friends who wanted one. I had so much fun picking out post cards and writing little messages to a lot of you. I definitely think I’ll do this on future trips as well – what a great way to connect offline! Bonus: I discovered some amazing designs by Lantern Press and got a few of this Fairbanks design in postcard form.
The Bachelor
To be clear, not Arie specifically – he’s a snooze – but, I totally love the show. The bar across the street from my house does viewing parties which makes it more of a fun event. Where else can you find girls eating worms to impress a guy or a girl with a deep-seated fear of bumper cars?
La Vieille Ferme Rosé
Need a cheap weeknight wine suggestion? This is it! I’ve found that so many inexpensive rosés tend to read sweet, but this one is crisp and dry. The best part is, Amazon Fresh will deliver a super-sized bottle to my house for under $15. Works for me!
Smart Wool Socks
Before my big hike last October, a coworker recommended SmartWool. They rocked on that trip, and they rocked last week. They have different styles and weights – I actually wear the light ones around Chicago under regular boots, and the heavy version came in very handy in chilly Alaska!
Leave your suggestions for next week’s list in the comments! 😉

I also love La Vielle Ferme! Dark Horse is another good cheap Rose that isn’t too sweet and if you’re feeling like a little splurge, Sterling is also delicious!

Awesome! Have you had Dark Horse Pinot noir? It keeps showing up on Amazon Fresh and I haven’t tried it yet!!

I may have. I feel like someone had it recently and it was also good. I think Dark Horse is a pretty solid pick for inexpensive wine… score!

Then that’s next on my list! I’ll let you know how it goes!

Also, I don’t know if you’ve discovered Spiked Seltzers yet, but if you haven’t they’re cold, crisp, bubbly, and not too sweet 🙂
Claire Gamble says
Ohh – I’ll have to try that!
