Y’all for some reason the Things I Love series just hasn’t been happening lately. And I guess that’s okay, but they’re one of my favorites to write and based on what I’ve heard – one of your favorites to read! So here we are!
If you follow along on Instagram or Facebook you’ll know this, but a couple of weeks ago, I turned my Winter Bedroom dream a reality! You can now see the “after” pics updated on that post. And if you don’t already follow along, you totally should! 😉
Now on to the fun stuff …
In The Moment: Things I Love on October 3, 2019

AeroGarden
When I stayed with my brother and his family in Colorado recently, I noticed this plant thing sitting in their kitchen. An hour later, I had ordered my very own AeroGarden – in this awesome hot pink / purple color – and all sorts of plant seeds to try out!
A month later, I’m still absolutely in love. Right now I have salad greens, basil, thyme, cherry tomatoes, and two types of flowers growing. A lot of people have asked about the yield. In 30 days, I’ve gone from seed to two side salads (a week apart), numerous harvests of basil and thyme, and the others are still growing steadily for future use!
I happened to snag mine on a mega discount, so keep your eye out for a good sale too! I love that the model I have is WiFi connected so I get a notification on my phone when the plants need water or food. The lights do their own thing automatically! There is also a non-WiFi version that’s less pricey and a basic version that’s still beautiful and does the same function!
Revlon Hot Air Brush
If you follow any bloggers at all, surely you’ve seen this tool everyone claims is magic. It went on sale for Prime Day so I decided to try it and let me tell you, everyone is right! My hair is so straight when I use it, but still has body and volume. I actually consistently get compliments when I use it … although, maybe that’s because my hair is usually in a ponytail and 70% dry shampoo. Either way, I’m a fan!
Bonus: at the time I’m writing this, it’s currently 30% off!!
Bag Hanger
I love a good purse hook, but I lost one that I loved and the replacements I found for it didn’t quite work as well. This one is great because it’s not hideous looking (yay) and gets the job done! Plus, it comes in a number of finishes. Thanks for the tip on this one, B!
Art By Megan
Art By Megan is an artist I’ve been following on Instagram for years and I’m thrilled to be going to a painting pop-up class she’s hosting in Chicago tomorrow! If you’re local, you should totally come with! Plus, she was so sweet and gave me a discount code (ARTBYMEGANCHICAGO) to share with y’all for 10% off the ticket price. Wine, painting, and making new friends at a chic hotel? Yes, please. If you’re not local, you should still check out her work, because the colors are the stuff daydreams are made of!
The Library
Weeks ago, I promised you I had a new tip to save money … it’s not new or different, but it is saving me a ton – The Chicago Public Library. I’ve never thought about the library because I only read on a Kindle, and frankly, it seemed too complicated to set up. I promised myself this summer I would figure it out so I can stop spending $10 / week on reading material. It was SO easy and it seems most library systems use one of a couple apps to reserve and borrow books. You can also tag books with icons to remember what you thought of them, which I love!
Speaking of reading, I’m starting a page on the blog with all of the books I’ve read and a short review on each – this way I can update as I go and you can keep up in real time – instead of waiting on a full recap post. I’ll let you know when it’s done! And, I’d love to hear what other types of pages like this you would want to see.
What are the things you love this week?
