On Friday I’m going to my happy place. I know what you’re thinking – I’ve asked myself the question a hundred times … If you love Colorado so much, why don’t you live there? The truth is, I love visiting Colorado, but not so sure I’d love living there. So instead, I’ll just enjoy my annual visits.
Even though I’ll have plenty to do spending time with family, friends, and the outdoors, I always seem to find time to read there too. Fun fact: on my trip last year, I read this book on how to start a blog!
With the prolific reading in mind, I’ve lined up a few solid options – but may call an audible on site.
Claire’s Summer Reading List
By: Kristin Hannah
This book has been on my list for – oh, about 7 months now, since I visited Alaska. It’s about a soldier in 1974 who comes back from Vietnam and relocates his family north for a fresh start. It sounds like a tough, but good, read.

In fairness, I already started this one because I’m excited to see the movie. So far so good! My only fear is that I’ll be so into it by the end, I’ll skip the rest of my summer list for the other two in the trilogy.
When Life Gives You Lululemons
By: Lauren Weisberger
Mirada Priestly (the devil who wore Prada) is back to play a smaller role in this book following her former assistant Emily Charlton. No – not Anne Hathaway’s character – her coworker nemesis. Emily is 30 now and is trying to reboot her career working in image consulting for a supermodel turned DUI suspect. Should be a fun read!
By: Molly Bloom
Switching things up with this autobiography of a 26-year-old who ran a high-stakes underground poker game. It’s about life with celebrities, business moguls, and millionaires winning and losing hundreds of millions of dollars at her table. Molly lives in Denver now, so it’s only appropriate.

Your typical story of flight attendant turned possible murderer. This book just called to my mom (a former flight attendant herself) who passed the book onto me. I’m not usually a fan of thrillers, but this one seems harmless and fun!
Okay – those should keep me busy for a week. But what books do you recommend I add to the ongoing list?

Good list! I’m currently reading the Lululemon book – it’s a fun beachy kind of read. I’m also a huge fan of Chris Bohjalian, so I’ll be sure to start that one. Have a fun trip!

Yay! Sounds like I made some good picks then!
