If you’re new to the blog, at the start of every month, I like to write a post about my goals. Partly to share with those of you who might be interested in how I keep organized, partly to hold myself accountable.
May was such a great month for me. I kept my goal of tracking every single expenditure throughout the month so I could get a better handle on my budget. I also was able to kill it in the health department too – I worked out consistently, ate mostly balanced well-portioned meals, and lost a whopping 10 lbs. Crazy how that works.
On to June …
It’s funny – June has so much going on in my world. On the 11th I turn 31 and I have two out of town trips scheduled – one to Atlanta, another to Boston. But honestly, those all seem like a total afterthought this year because on the 20th, I’m having what I know will be a life-changing surgery. More about that here.
Too many unanswered questions …
All of a sudden, I’m about three weeks pre-op and I feel totally unorganized. What clothes and home comfort items will I need immediately post-op? What am I going to do with the cats (doc says they can’t stay with me)? What am I going to do with my Etsy shop? So many questions that I don’t have answers for yet.
So that’s my June focus. Getting everything I need buttoned up. I know it’s not my typical goal focus like watching my health or finances. It’s a bit more tactical – which in some ways I appreciate.
Please send all tips and good thoughts …
Have you ever had a major planned surgery? What were things you didn’t think about pre-op that would have made your post-op recovery easier? I feel that I’m getting the best input from people who have been through the same or similar procedure.
Before Friday I’ll be sitting down to make one of my signature check lists – printed and laminated so I can hang it on the fridge and make notes with a dry-erase marker. When you have a big project on your plate, how do you keep organized and on track?
I’d love to hear any and all of your tips!
